LCAP Surveys: Included in this email are the survey links for the 2025–2026 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The district highly values the information gathered through these surveys, as the feedback provided by teachers, staff, students and parents plays an important role in shaping district goals, priorities, and actions.
The input collected helps guide decisions that positively impact our schools, students, and staff. Your perspectives and experiences provide valuable insight that assists the district in identifying areas of success as well as opportunities for improvement.
We greatly appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey and share your input. Your participation is an important part of the district’s continuous improvement process.

Parents with children in Special Education:
Dear Parents and Families,
Our district will be distributing the Special Education Parent Survey to gather feedback about your experiences with your child’s special education services over the past year. This survey provides valuable information to both the district and the California Department of Education (CDE) regarding how well schools are supporting parents and families in the special education process.
Your feedback helps us identify areas of strength as well as areas where we may need to improve our services and supports for students and families. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective.
You may complete the survey by using the web link listed on the survey form, scanning the QR code, or by completing the paper survey and returning it to your child’s school. Responses are anonymous. Please complete one survey per student.
Thank you for your time and for partnering with us in supporting our students.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Fruguglietti

March Manners 🏀
This month at BES, students are participating in March Manners — Bring Your Best! In the morning video announcements, and throughout their day, we are learning and important etiquette and social skills, including:
• Saying “please” and “thank you”
• Holding doors and waiting our turn
• Setting a basic table
• Using polite dining manners
• Having respectful conversations
• Listening without interrupting
• Using kind words
At Burney Elementary, we believe character matters just as much as academics. These small daily habits help students grow into respectful, responsible leaders.
We would love your partnership! 💛
You can support at home by:
• Encouraging polite conversations
• Practicing table setting together
• Noticing and praising respectful behavior
• Modeling “please,” “thank you,” and “excuse me,” asking “Will you please,” and “May I please…”
-We have worked hard throughout the year on teaching students to reply when people greet them and greet them back.
-We are also working on respectful responses when asked a question. For example when the kids get home from school and you ask them how their day went, they should respond AND ask you how your day went.
It will take some prompting, but together they will succeed.
When school and home work together, our students thrive.
Thank you for partnering with us to help our Jr. Raiders bring their best — at school and beyond!

Raider Ride Rules~ If your Jr. Raider rides the bus, please remind them of the expectations for riding the bus!

We received a report that a mountain lion was spotted on Mountain View past Carberry. Our staff is being extra vigilant during this time and taking appropriate safety precautions. Please remind your children to stay alert and avoid walking alone in that area.
